RMYA: Centro Seguro the first 24/7 center for sex trafficked teens
SAN ANTONIO - Centro Seguro is the first 24 hour drop in center in the United States serving children who are victims of the sex trafficking industry. Child sex trafficking has become a pervasive problem in our community and is the second fastest growing crime in the nation. It affects as many as 1 in 3 runaway children between the ages of 10 and 17.
Centro Seguro will provide a space where child victims of sex trafficking can receive trauma-informed, evidence-based counseling and specialized case management and crisis intervention services in a non-judgmental environment placing them on a path for recovery and healing.
Roy Maas Youth Alternatives has been working with abused and neglected children for 41 years and is considered the bench mark of success for helping children and families in crisis.
About RMYA: Through residential and counseling services, RMYA helps children and families end the cycle of trauma and abuse too many youngsters experience in our community. Since 1976, RMYA programs have served more than 78,000 abused, neglected and high-risk youth.
