San Antonio Conservation Society to restore oldest industrial structure
SAN ANTONIO- Susan Beavin, president of the San Antonio Conservation Society discussed the mission of the company and what is new. Founded in 1924, the San Antonio Conservation Society preserves the architecture, natural beauty, and cultural heritage of San Antonio. San Antonio is rapidly growing, and the society makes its voice heard within the neighborhood, city, and county levels.
They are giving a generous donation to the City of San Antonio to restore the 1877 Brackenridge Pump House #1, which is the oldest intact industrial structure in San Antonio. Their Tercentennial Event for this will be held in May, and they will also host Daniel Bluestone, an acclaimed Boston architectural historian on Feb 3 from 5:30-7pm at their Steves Homestead River House.
The Conservation Society has been involved in the San Antonio Missions since 1924. They are excited to launch a new video, Can You Imagine, and the Sociey’s new website at the end of the month.
