Third Annual San Antonio Feminist Film Festival
The third annual San Antonio Feminist Film Festival is scheduled on October 10 and October 12, 2017.
The festival is designed to foster conversation and the exchange of ideas related to the achievement of full equality. The arts are used as an avenue to achieve the level of conversation that results in change.
The San Antonio Feminist Film Festival was founded in of 2014 to foster conversation and action in the pursuit of full equality for all persons.
The organization works to accomplish their mission through the screening of films devoted to the awareness and the realization of the educational evolution of feminism.
The call to action for 2017 is voter registration to result in change. A voter registration drive will be held during the festival.
This year, speakers will include the past Chair of the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women, the woman that achieved the first successful results for a same-sex marriage court case, a transgender activist that achieved national notoriety for a photograph that went viral, an activist in the SA LGBTQ community, a survivor of sexual assault that will discuss the post-attack options in SA, and a WNBA Hall of Famer, and a former SA City Councilperson.
In 2017 will have two short films produced by students of Brackenridge High School.
Third Annual San Antonio Feminist Film Festival will take place at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Park North.
