Free health fair for East Side community this Saturday
The Walmart Foundation has given the University of the Incarnate Word a $50,000 grant to conduct four health fairs on the under-served east side of San Antonio. Sutton Oaks Apartments is in partnership with them. Not only are the health fairs helping the community, but they are important in training health profession students on how to serve disadvantaged populations. The second of the four health fairs will be April 8, 2017. The grant also has been the impetus of Sutton Oaks reaching out to east side families with a 4-H club, youth basketball league through the San Antonio Spurs and other activities to enhance community health.
