Alamo Bowl players in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO -- Kickoff for the 25th annual Valero Alamo Bowl is still a couple days away but thousands of fans are already in town getting ready for the game.
The teams arrived a couple days before Christmas to get ready. Tuesday morning, players were putting down the playbooks and taking part in one the Alamo Bowl traditions.
Some of the players from Stanford and Texas Christian University were hanging out at SeaWorld. Players from both teams suited up and got to do some tricks with the dolphins. Some of the players even got taken for a ride.
TCU played in the bowl game here a couple years ago. Players say the city of San Antonio is an enjoyable destination.
"Being back here a second time, the Riverwalk is absolutely amazing,” one player told us. “All the people are really, really nice. They honestly just make it easy for us to have a great time and a fun time."
The bowl game is a chance for the Alamodome to show off some it's latest renovations. The $60 million facelift includes bigger concourses on the plaza level and larger video boards. That way you can see all the action of the Top 15 matchup.
Fans will get a chance to see the teams and head coaches for both teams at a pep rally Tuesday afternoon. The event will be held at 5 p.m. on the Riverwalk at the Arneson River Theatre.
