Arrest made in Philadelphia Eagles-inspired vandalism of Stevie Ray Vaughan statue
AUSTIN, Texas —
On the Monday following the Super Bowl, a man was seen vandalizing Austin's iconic Stevie Ray Vaughan statue with spray paint and a Philadelphia Eagles jersey.
It happened on February 5 at Auditorium Shores. Witnesses saw the man's vehicle ans called 911 with the license plate number.
Police investigated the scene and were able to track the suspect down at his home. 39-year-old Matthew Rutledge was arrested on Friday. He is currently in the Travis County Jail.
He is charged with graffiti, a class B misdemeanor.
