Babysitter claims she shook baby in playful manner, infant hospitalized
SAN ANTONIO - Police arrested a babysitter accused of shaking a 4-month-old child.
According to arrest papers, Tomasa Guerra was watching the infant last month when he was hospitalized with head injuries.
Guerra told investigators the baby boy rolled off the couch and onto the floor, but doctors say the injuries are consistent with being violently shaken.
The arrest report says after being questioned, Guerra admitted to shaking the baby, but said it was in a playful manner and didn't think it would hurt the baby. She has been charged with injury to a child.
