Man's body found inside vehicle at Southwest Side park
SAN ANTONIO -- Police are investigating after a body was found at a park on the Southwest Side Saturday.
The body was discovered at around 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Medina Base Road Park, which is located at 6303 Medina Base Road. A police spokesperson said an individual riding a dirt bike in the park came across a vehicle and smelled a foul odor. The passerby spotted someone inside the vehicle who was not moving and then flagged down an officer.
The vehicle, a tan 4-door vehicle, was found about a mile in some brush near a creek. Police said there was no visible damage on the vehicle and it does not appear to have been a vehicle accident. However, since the body was so decomposed, they are not ruling anything out.
Police say the body in the vehicle appears to be an adult male and they believe his body has been at the location for at least a week or more.
The medical examiner's office is now working to identify the man and determine what caused his death.
