Children's Hospital patients make jewelry for Mother's Day
SAN ANTONIO - Mother's Day is about a week away, and for some kids, the ability to get their moms a gift can be tough.
Patients at the Children's Hospital of San Antonio had the opportunity to create a custom gift on Wednesday. Jewelry designer Kendra Scott and the Children's Hospital paired up to allow patients to create jewelry for their moms.
"They can get out of their room, and they can do something fun and have a distraction from what ever procedures or diagnosis they have going on, just give them that moment to be a kid, be a family and create a memory while they are here," said Childlife coordinator Jessica Clayton.
Many of the patients have been in the hospital for days, weeks or even months.
