Cooling stations available during this extreme heat
SAN ANTONIO —
The City of San Antonio, Department of Human Services and Haven for Hope are helping people beat the heat this weekend. The three have teamed up to open four cooling stations around the city.
The Bob Ross and Southside Lions Senior Centers will be open for all seniors. Two other community centers will be open for seniors, people with disabilities and families with their children.
Haven for hope says they are prepared for an increase in emergency shelter this weekend.
Here’s a list of all the COOLING STATIONS open from 10am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday…
- Frank Garrett Community Center, 1226 N.W. 18th Street
- Claude W. Black Community Center, 2915 E. Commerce Street
- Bob Ross Senior Center, 2219 Babcock Road
- Southside Lions Senior Center, 3303 Pecan Valley Drive
