SAN ANTONIO - Police arrested a man they say went into a Home Depot store and returned items that he simply took from store shelves.

According to court papers, Joseph Mueller was spotted walking empty-handed into a Home Depot store on Southeast Military Drive. A short time later, he was seen pushing a cart to the returns desk with a stainless steel sink. He tried to return it for $279 and then walked out with the sink when Home Depot employees refused the transaction, according to investigators.

Police say a check of Mueller's account at Home Depot showed several returns without a receipt.

Mueller is now charged with theft.
