Driver who struck man tried to save his life with CPR, say police
SAN ANTONIO - A man crossing Hildebrand Avenue was killed when he was hit by a truck early Friday morning.
Police say the victim, described as a man in his 60s, was crossing Hildebrand near Breeden Avenue shortly after 6 a.m. when he was struck.
The driver stopped and attempted to perform CPR on the victim, but he died at the scene. People at a nearby restaurant said the victim stopped by every morning to pick up breakfast tacos on his way to work. His identity has not been released.
The driver told officers he did not see the victim until it was too late. No charges are expected to be filed.
