Father's day at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery

In honor of Father’s Day, many people spent time at Sam Houston National Cemetery to visit their Father.

“All of these people in my eyes are heroes,” said Keith Ralph. "I’m going to bet you most of them were remembered today.”

Hundreds of people drove through the cemetery on Sunday, including Rose Marie. Marie says she’s been visiting her Father every year, since he died 12 years ago.

“I’m happy that I have a place to come and visit him, and talk to him,” said Marie.

Despite the Texas heat, Rose wasn’t alone. The streets surrounding the cemetery were nearly gridlocked, for the holiday weekend.

Ralph says, “We’ve missed him since 1977, but we still remember him.”
