Two children rescued from house fire, hospitalized in critical condition
SAN ANTONIO —
Firefighters rescued two children from a burning home on the Northwest side early Sunday morning.
The fire started at about 2:50 a.m. at the 13900 block of S. Village Drive.
When firefighters arrived, heavy black smoke and flames were seen coming from the garage. Two people from inside the home managed to escape and told firefighters they attempted to break windows to save two children inside, but were unsuccessful. Firefighters entered the home and were able to save the children. The children were transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The home has been deemed a total loss. The Red Cross is assisting the family at this time.
