Fourth suspect arrested in teen trafficking investigation
SAN ANTONIO —
Police have made another arrest in the investigation of a teen that was sold for sex.
On May 8, the 15-year-old girl called police because she had a bad reaction to some drugs she had taken. When police arrived, she was evaluated and later told them she was a victim of human trafficking.
Police said 28-year-old Ray Hernandez was paid to give her a ride, take her to a motel and force her to have sex with 50-year-old Juan Manuel Alvarez inside. She was then taken to other locations to have sex with more men.
Officers arrested Alvarez on Tuesday in the 9100 block of Broadway. Investigators said he had an outstanding warrant for an unrelated charge.
All of the suspects arrested thus far include:
- Juan Manuel Alvarez, 50; charged with trafficking of a child, a first-degree felony.
- Ray Hernandez, 28; charged with continuous trafficking of a person.
- Cory Acosta, charged with trafficking of a child.
- Alfredo Herrera, 25; charged with sexual assault of a child.
Police are encouraging other victims to come forward by calling 210-207-2313.
