Gunshots lead to high-speed chase through San Antonio, three teens arrested
SAN ANTONIO —
Three teens were arrested and face several charges following an overnight chase that started with gunshots.
A San Antonio police officer was in her patrol car on Southwest Military Drive and Somerset when she heard gunshots. She was unsure whether the shots were fired toward her and began to pursue the suspects' car toward I-35 North.
A police helicopter and K-9 unit joined the chase as the suspects hit speeds of 80 to 100 miles per hour.
Six suspects, three girls in their late teens and three men, later abandoned the car at Olympia and General Kruger, located near Basse Road and West Avenue.
The three female suspects were caught, including the driver who was later identified as Alyssa Nicole Gutierrez. She has been charged with evading arrest.
