Help Us Find: Leah Smith
BEXAR COUNTY, Texas —
The search continues for 17-year-old Leah Smith. Smith was last seen on May 1 in the Waterwood Subdivision in Elmendorf.
"She has no money, she has no identification with her, " said Leah's mom Melinda Smith.
The teen went missing in the middle of the night with her three legged dog Trinity. Leah and her dog are inseparable.
"We're pretty certain she would have her dog with her, and that would be something that would stand out, " added Smith.
Leah's parents, John and Melinda Smith are filled with worry.
"My biggest fear is she's in an unsafe place and she can't get out," added John Smith.
The Smith's say their daughter has never disappeared. They fear she may have been lured or tried to seek out her birth parents in other parts of the state.
"We've had her since she was 18 months old," said Melinda.
She says she understands her daughter may feel a little lost at the moment, "but she needs to get away from whoever she's with."
Leah stands at 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. If you have any information that could help find Leah, call the Bexar County Sheriff's Office at (210) 335-8477 or the Heidi Search Center at (210) (210) 650-0428.
