High school booster club under investigation for missing money
BOERNE, Texas - An investigation is underway in Boerne, after thousands of dollars was reported missing from a local fundraising group.
So far, police haven’t been able to confirm who could be under investigation. However, we’re hearing that $85,000 is missing from the Boerne High School Band’s Booster organization.
We reached out to the school’s band director, along with parents, and a lawyer familiar with the investigation. As of Thursday night, no one was willing to comment.
Late Thursday evening, we received a response from the Boerne Independent School District.
“Boerne ISD is aware of and extremely concerned about the discovery of irregularities in the handling of finances of the Boerne High School Band Boosters organization,” said David Boggan, the Director of Communications for Boerne Independent School District. “The district is supportive of the organization’s efforts to work with local law enforcement in this matter.”
Boggan went on to say, “Since the Boerne High School Band Boosters is a separate organization from Boerne ISD, Boerne High School Band Boosters has released a statement on the situation. That statement is available through the organization’s attorney, Stephan B. Rogers. As this is now an active investigation, all questions should be directed to the Boerne Police Department.”
We reached out to Stephan B. Rogers for comment, however he also directed us to the Boerne Police Department. As of Thursday night all calls haven’t been returned from the Boerne Police Department.
