Local mother pushes for answers five years after son's murder
SAN ANTONIO- Police say they know the man who shot and killed 21-year old Luis Hernandez Gonzalez Jr.
It’s been five years since Gonzalez was fatally shot and Theresa Hernandez his mother says police still haven’t made an arrest in her son’s case.
“Somebody gets murdered and they catch him right away and my son its five years and they still can't do nothing about it,” said Hernandez.
Police say five years ago, Eduardo Sanchez shot 21-year old Gonzales near Westminster Avenue and North General McMullen on the city's west side. Hernandez says Sanchez is still on the run.
Making matters worse, she says the suspected shooter knew her son well.
“They were best friends,” said Hernandez.
Hernandez says right now all investigators are telling her is it's just a matter of time before they arrest Sanchez but she says five years is too long.
“He needs to be caught already. It's hard for us every day. Day by day waiting,” said Hernandez.
