Man shot by enraged ex-girlfriend’s brother
SAN ANTONIO —
Police tell us a man who broke up with his girlfriend was shot by her brother shortly after 6:30 Thursday. It happened near the intersection of Trinity and Laredo Streets on the Near West Side.
The man in his 20’s was walking down the street when his ex-girlfriend’s brother spotted him. He pulled out a gun and started shooting at him. The man took off running as the suspect emptied the clip while in pursuit. He was hit in the left buttocks and ran down into a drainage ditch. The brother caught up and pistol whipped him, leaving a bloody gash on his head.
The victim managed to crawl back up from ditch after the brother fled the scene. That’s when someone spotted him and called police.
The police say they know who the shooter is and went to his mother's house, questioning people there.
The victim was taken to SAMMC with non-life threatening injuries.
