Mayor's Council on Police Community Relations makes progress
SAN ANTONIO - After months of meeting in subcommittees, the Mayor's Council to improve relations with the public hosted a meeting to present recommendations.
The subcommittees were developed when the council last met in January.
Since then, they've been figuring out ways to help improve communication, trust and transparency between the police and the public.
Bexar county district attorney nico lahood said, “I say I'm encouraged because there is a dialogue. There is not name calling, there is not yelling, it's really good suggestions."
The Mayor's Council will now review the recommendations and decide which should be implemented.
A date for the next meeting to update the public is pending.
