Scope of data breach at hotel chain expands
SAN ANTONIO —
Intercontinental Hotels Group is now reporting a data breach that affected their hotels last year is worse than previously thought.
The hotel chain, which includes the Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza brands, originally reported only a dozen properties were affected. Now, it says more than 1,200 of its hotels were infected with malware. That malware may have stolen customer's debit and credit card data between September 29 and December 29 of 2016.
