Sheriff's Office, DEA seizes more than $1 million in narcotics, weapons during raid
The Bexar County Sheriff's Office arrested one man and seized about $1 million worth of drugs from a Southwest Side home on Monday night.
According to Sheriff Javier Salazar, Jimmy Zavala, Jr. was arrested at a home on Bay Street during a joint operation with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Inside the home, investigators seized 4.3 kilos of heroin, 5.6 kilos of meth, 293.3 grams of cocaine and 20.3 grams of crack cocaine. In addition, seven firearms were found, including some that were loaded and ready to use, as well as a large amount of cash.
Salazar said there were other family members inside the house, including children.
Zavala was taken into federal custody. He faces drug and weapons charges.
