A woman was shot while pumping gas at a West Side gas station early Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened at the 7-11 store located at the intersection of Zarzamora and Culebra roads just after 2:30 a.m.

Police say the victim was pumping gas when people in two other vehicles started shooting each other. She was struck in the chest.

The victim, later identified as 23-year-old Candace Armstrong-McDonald, was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Investigators are searching for the drivers of the two vehicles involved in the shootout. Police said they recovered surveillance video of the incident.
