A man is facing charges after police say he stole Christmas gifts from homes and cars across the city.

David Ramirez, 27, allegedly admitted to stealing 15 packages worth a total of $4,000 from various neighborhoods over the last month. He's charged with at least 9 counts of burglary of a vehicle, theft, evading arrest and a narcotics-related charge.

Detectives with the San Antonio Police Department said they received license plate information on the Jeep that Ramirez was driving during one of the thefts.

While in handcuffs, Ramirez apologized to his family.

"I'm sorry, everybody," he said as he was placed inside an SAPD cruiser to head to the Bexar County Jail.
