Car goes airborne and hits two poles, driver found walking a block away
SAN ANTONIO -- A man was somehow able to walk away after his car crashed into two poles and then rolled over northwest of Downtown Saturday.
The accident happened just before 3 p.m. Saturday on the 200 block of Rivas Street. A spokesperson for the San Antonio Fire Department said the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed, when his car hit a curb and went airborne. The car then hit a utility pole and a light pole before rolling onto its top.
The driver was able to get himself out of the wreckage and walked away. An EMS crew found him about a block away from the accident scene and talked him into getting checked out.
Crews also had to repair some live power lines that were knocked down in the crash.
