Three arrested after deputies find 2-year old dead in Medina County home
Medina County deputies have arrested three people after the death of a 2-year old boy.
Deputies say they were called to a house in the 400 block of CR 4210 in D’Hanis a little after 7:30 Friday morning because a 2-year old boy wasn't breathing.
The boy died at the home after EMS tried to save his life.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner's office is identifying the toddler as Israel Salazar.
The boy's mother, 28-year old Rebecca Pargas, was arrested for several outstanding warrants not related to the child’s death.
30-year old Quintin Bales and 27-year old Tomas Rodriguez were with Pargas at the home, according to deputies.
Sheriff Randy Brown says their relationship to Pargas is unknown at this time.
“These types of deaths we have to look at very closely,” said Brown. “I'm not saying it's anybody's fault but we're going to work until we know exactly what happened."
Bales and Rodriguez were arrested for being in violation of parole.
Rodriguez is now facing an evading arrest charge after he ran from deputies for about 45 minutes.
It's still unclear if any other children were in the house at the time of the 2-year old’s death.
The Medina County Sheriff's Office is working with Child Protective Services in this investigation.
