Tip leads police to suspected masked gunman in dollar store robbery
SAN ANTONIO - Police arrested a man accused of tying up a dollar store employee during an early morning robbery this week.
According to arrest papers, Orlando Puente, 23, followed an employee as she prepared to open the store on Pleasanton Road near Division on Tuesday morning.
He wore a bandana over his face and a hoodie as he forced the victim to open a safe at gunpoint, according to investigators. On the day of the robbery, investigators also told us the clerk was tied up.
Police said a tip later led to Puente, who confessed to the robbery and told officers where they could find the stolen items, according to court papers.
Puente is charged with aggravated robbery.
