Troopers say one person injured in the crash died. Authorities later identified that person as 18-year-old Robert Pratt of Universal City.

Authorities say four people were injured when a suspect who was fleeing from officers crashed his car into five other vehicles Friday.

The accident happened around 12:15 p.m. Friday on FM 78 near the intersection of FM Road 3009. The Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office says a witness spotted someone breaking into a vehicle in or near New Braunfels and called police. The suspect, who drove off in a gray car, ended up near Marion.

As the suspect was driving down FM 78 near Schertz, officers tried to pull him over. The Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office said the suspect refused to stop, went through the intersection at County Road 3009, and crashed into an 18-wheeler and 4 other vehicles.

The suspect, who officers said had a gun on him, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Three other people, including one inside the suspect's vehicle, were also injured in the crash and taken to hospitals.
