Transmission line tower topples during storm
SAN ANTONIO - A transmission line toppled over during the height of the storms late Sunday on the city's Northeast Side.
CPS Energy later reported the power running through those lines were not live. The power was redirected to other lines.
The tower is located at Uhr Lane and Higgins Road, near O'Connor Road and Nacogdoches. A homeowner whose property is located directly in front of the tower said he heard a loud bang late Sunday night followed by a loud static noise.
He opened the back door to and immediately shut it when he saw a bright flash. He said he then left the home with his wife out of concern for their safety.
At the height of the storms, nearly 45,000 people were without power. At 9 a.m., about 20,000 CPS Energy customers remained without power.
