Woman dies in emergency room after pickup crashes into her car, driver arrested
SAN ANTONIO —
A woman died after the car she was driving was hit by a pickup truck on the Far Northwest Side.
Officers at the scene said a car and pickup truck were both traveling on the access road of Loop 1604 near Bandera Road around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, when the pickup truck crashed into the back of the car. The impact caused the woman driving the car to lose control. The car ended up near the parking lot area of a bank. The truck went southbound and hit an 18-wheeler.
The woman was taken to University Hospital with multiple injuries and died in the emergency room. Her name has not been released.
The driver of the truck, later identified as 39-year-old Gabriel Boudreau, was not hurt. Police say he was speeding on a blown out tire when he hit the victim's car. Police believe Boudreau had been driving on the rim for almost 6 miles. He is now facing a charge of manslaughter.
