Woman killed in fiery rollover crash in South Bexar County
SAN ANTONIO - A woman was killed in a fiery rollover crash early Wednesday morning, prompting a partial shutdown of a highway in South Bexar County.
According to officers at the scene, a couple was in a car on Highway 281 near Martinez Losoya Road when the driver lost control and rolled over shortly after 4 a.m. The car caught fire and burned.
A passenger, later identified as 18-year-old Samantha Beltran, was thrown from the car and died at the scene. The driver was treated for a concussion.
Crews shut down the northbound lanes of 281 for a short time. The lanes reopened by 6:30 a.m.
Investigators said there were no signs the male driver was impaired or intoxicated, but the deadly crash remained under investigation.
