In a naturalization ceremony Thursday morning, U.S. District Judge Fred Birley welcomed more than 500 immigrants, including famously known WWE Wrestler “Alberto Del Rio” (Jose Alberto Rodriguez), at the Edgewood Theatre of Performing Arts.

Naturalization is the process where foreign citizens fulfill the requirements established by Congress to achieve U.S. citizenship. Rodriguez was just one of 548 immigrants from more than 78 countries that were in attendance.

Rodriguez has been living in San Antonio for quite some time now, according to WrestlingRumors.net. Jose has been very open about his past and intentions about becoming a citizen and hopes to return to WWE to retire and end his career the right way.

During fiscal year 2017, more than 715,000 people were naturalized at ceremonies throughout the country and around the world, including more than 15,300 individuals through the San Antonio field office, according to the news release.
