Police capture man suspected of stabbing woman, shoving elderly man
UPDATE: Gary Leon Nicholas, 31, was apprehended at a doctor's office Thursday after a Fox San Antonio viewer recognized Nicholas and called police.
Today, we're asking for the public's help as we're seeking a man wanted on two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
At approximately 2:20 a.m. on June 30, 2016, law enforcement officers responded to a call for a cutting in progress at a residence in the 5300 block of Costa Mesa.
Officers arrived and found a female victim with a deep stab wound to her torso.
The female victim told officers 31-year-old Gary Leon Nicholas, who is also her boyfriend, came to her house and began arguing with an elderly male relative of hers.
She watched as Nicholas shoved the elderly man to the ground, causing him pain and injuries.
In an attempt to help the elderly man, the female victim jumped on the back of Gary Nicholas and attempted to separate him from her elderly relative.
As she was doing this, he pulled a knife, reached back and stabbed her in the ribs.
He then fled the scene in a vehicle, but not before slashing both rear tires of the female victim's car.
The female was transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Gary Nicholas is approximately 6'4" and weighs approximately 220 pounds.
