WINNER: Taft's Justin Stevenson with the high school football play of the week
UPDATE: Taft's Justin Stevenson - with his amazing touchdown run, was voted the play of the week. Thank you everyone for your thousands of votes.
High school football is back! That means all that comes with it: the pep rallies, the tailgate parties and, of course, the high school football play of the week!
Play #1: Holmes vs. Sam Houston on Thursday night. The run by the Hurricane's Josh Harris itself is great, but what really makes this special is the block down field by Lowe Scott. He blocks one guy, and then peels back to take out another. Holmes won this game, but what a play from Sam Houston.
Play #2: From Hallmark University Thursday Night Lights presented by Jack in the Box. It was the opening touchdown of the season for Taft. Justin Stevenson gets by four defenders at the line of scrimmage, gets to the outside and then he's gone! 68-yards down the sideline. Lee rallied to score 17 points in the second half and win, but Stevenson certainly had one of the best plays of the week.
Play #3: How about Stanley Lambert from the Marshall Rams? Lambert just hung in the air to make the touchdown grab over the defender from Laredo Johnson Friday night. What a catch! Marshall won that game 21-7.
