Elisa Amigo joined the Fox San Antonio news team in 2014. She co-anchors Fox News at Nine.
Elisa came to San Antonio from Cleveland, Ohio, where she anchored at WJW. She spent seven years as a reporter there, and two years in the field in Toledo, Ohio.
Throughout her career, Elisa has covered a wide range of stories, including the emotional homecoming of three women kept hostage for more than a decade, and the mass school shooting at Chardon High School. One of Elisa's most memorable stories was a one-on-one flight with the Blue Angels. That assignment had her cruising along at speeds exceeding 500 miles an hour, and pulling 6.2 Gs.
Elisa's storytelling abilities and community involvement have earned her numerous awards, including the Ohio AP 1rst place award for Best Reporter, and an Emmy for Best Weekend Newscast. She's been honored as one of Northeast Ohio's top "40 under 40" Hispanic leaders, and Cleveland Magazine put her on its cover and labeled her one of the city's Most Interesting People.
Elisa grew up in Marietta, Ohio, and attended the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. She graduated cum laude and majored in broadcast journalist with a double minor in Spanish and political science. During college, she spent a semester studying abroad at the University of Pamplona.
