Erin Nichols was born and raised in San Antonio, and she's thrilled to have the opportunity to report in her home town.
Erin joined the Fox San Antonio news team in 2013. Before that, Erin was honing her skills as an anchor, producer and reporter in Beaumont, Texas.
Erin attended Providence High School and then the University of the Incarnate Word, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication, with a concentration in journalism and international studies. During her college courses, Erin interned at Fox San Antonio, and made such an impression the station decided to make her an offer. She was hired as freelance on-air talent and served as the "band cam" reporter for Thursday Night Lights. She was also the host of the Weekend Movie Spotlight.
Erin also interned at FOX 5 in Washington, D.C., as part of the Fund for American Studies. She attended the Institute on Political Journalism and studied economics and media ethics at Georgetown University.
After graduating from UIW, Erin went on to work at Fox 4 KBTV in Beaumont, Texas as the weekend anchor, producer, and a reporter. While in Beaumont, she was honored by the Texas Medical Association for bringing awareness to ovarian cancer. She was also recognized by the Southeast Texas Press Club for her investigative and feature work.
Erin is a Texas girl at heart and loves her San Antonio Spurs. However, when it comes to football, she's a New Orleans Saints fan. (Who dat?!) She loves movies, old and new, and enjoys playing the piano in her spare time.
