Over the past few months, you may have noticed your grocery store bills going up, as the COVID-19 pandemic has created major disruptions to our food supply chain.

The increase in prices, especially when it comes to meat, has left many families wondering what they can do to save money.

Chrissy Micciollo is the creator of Coupon Confidants, an online blog with thousands of followers, dedicated to helping you save more, one coupon at a time.

"Everybody can do it. It's just so easy. I even taught my 76-year-old uncle.”

Micciollo says she understands clipping coupons out of newspapers or ads can be overwhelming especially for beginners, so she’s now focusing on sharing more on digital deals.

Micciollo recommends starting with the weekly ad section of the store of your choice. This can be found right on their website or App. Then, digitally ‘clip’ your coupons.

“Look at that ad, see what meats are on sale that week and base your dinners off of that. See what produce is in season and base your snacks off of that. Even just working with the weekly ad you will save."

She recommends using Apps like Fetch Rewards, which does all the work for you.

"You can take a picture of your receipts and upload it. If any of the items count, they give you money back. You don't even have to think if you’re buying the correct item. Buy the brands that you like and upload the receipt. They're going to give you points either way but you will buy get bonus points if you buy specific brands.”
