Last call: Titles leaving Netflix in February 2019

(KUTV) The list of titles leaving Netflix this month is remarkably small, but that doesn't mean there aren't a few classic and overlooked films that are worthy of your immediate attention.

The Big Lebowski

It's a case of mistaken identification that fuels the Coen Brother's "The Big Lebowski." When two criminals confuse Jeffrey "the Dude" Lebowski (Jeff Bridges) for Jeffery "the rich philanthropist" Lebowski his rug gets ruined and that's one thing that "the Dude" cannot abide.

Black Dynamite

When his brother is killed, Black Dynamite, a Vietnam War veteran and former CIA officer, swears to clear the streets of the riffraff of gangsters and drug dealers. Michael Jai White stars as the title character in this wild blaxploitation parody that also spawned a an animated series.

The Bourne Ultimatum

Considered by many to be the best of the Jason Bourne films, "The Bourne Ultimatum" was the third film in the franchise and saw Bourne (Matt Damon) filling in many of the gaps in his memory. Of course, the more Bourne knows, the more a mysterious agency wants him dead.

Children of Men

Alfonso Cuarón's current masterpiece "Roma" might have found a permanent on Netflix, but "Children of Men," his excellent 2006 sci-fi thriller about a future where infertility has pushed society to its breaking point, is due to depart on February 1, 2019. Set against a backdrop where the United Kingdom has become a police state where immigrants are executed, a refugee miraculously becomes pregnant. There might be hope for humanity, if Theo Faron (Clive Owen) can manage to keep her alive.

Shaun of the Dead

Horror comedies are nothing new, but few contemporary films reach the dizzy hilarity of Edgar Wright's "Shaun of the Dead." The film stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as slacker best friends who wake to discover that London has been overwhelmed by a zombie apocalypse. Rather than senselessly mocking the zombie genre (which wasn't nearly as popular in 2004 as it was a decade later), "Shaun of the Dead" is as much a love letter to George A. Romero as it is a farce built around the living dead.
