Chosen's mission to help children in foster and adoptive care

SAN ANTONIO - In the San Antonio area and nearby counties, there are nearly 5,000 children in foster and adoptive care. Many of these children may experience anger, depression, hostility and post-traumatic stress. As a result, their families, or caregivers, may often not know how to handle the behaviors. In some cases, marriages can break down and tensions explode with other siblings in the home. However, children and families can get help through Chosen which offers mentoring, parent education and therapeutic services as part of the nonprofit’s mission to help children heal from trauma and strengthen families.
