Geekdom discusses cryptocurrency and bitcoin
SAN ANTONIO- Jake Stauffer and Johnny Wondra of Cryptocurrency, Geekdom Meetups and the Growth of the Local Tech Industry discussed how the company has engaged the community by teaching about bitcoin and other elements of cryptocurrency. They have created a monthly meetup to engage the public on bitcoin.
Cryptocurrency is being actively used by individuals for payment for various services. It is a digital currency where encryption techniques are used to regulate the generation of units of currency and verify the transfer of funds, operating independently of a central bank.
Stauffer discussed bitcoin and blockchain and the ways people use it for currency. He also described what cryptocurrency actually is and how it is used for payment.
Wondra discussed the upcoming meetup in the educational series and noted topics of law regulations and the economics of crypto. There are guest speakers each month and opportunities for networking at the meetups.
