UT Health: The San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium
SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) is owned and operated by UT Health San Antonio. It is the leading scientific conference for cancer researchers, basic scientists, physicians and patient advocates. The mission of SABCS is to exchange new, scientifically proven information about the causes of cancer; and the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. It took place from Dec. 4-8.
Dr. Virginia Kaklamani, with UT Health San Antonio, talked about some of the hot topics that were discussed this year's conference.
The San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium was established in 1977 as a one-day regional conference in Breast Cancer Awareness Week. It has grown to a five-day program attended by an international audience of more than 7,000 academic and private researchers and physicians from more than 80 countries. It is one of the largest breast cancer conferences in the world for both basic researchers and physicians to exchange ideas about breast cancer.
