SAN ANTONIO - The deadline is fast approaching for San Antonio property owners who need financial help making home repairs.

Millions of dollars have been earmarked in the 2018 City Budget for owner occupied home restorations.

COPS Metro hosted at workshop on the city's West Side Tuesday night to help homeowners apply for their piece of the pie.

Hundreds packed into St. Timothy Catholic Church for the COPS Metro workshop.

It was the second of three meetings scheduled before the deadline later this month.

Property owners got detailed instructions on how to apply for four available programs that focus on roof, foundation, window repairs.

Even though the workshop was held on the west side funds are available to homeowners throughout San Antonio.

Property owners need only apply, but there are some restrictions.

Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales and other city leaders were on hand to help explain the application process and qualifications.

Jesse Ramos with COPS Metro said, "They were able to get us $9-million dollars and with that money it's going to be going throughout the City of San Antonio and that's why we're having our meeting here today to let the people know that the money's available all they have to do is apply."
