Barking dog alerts homeowner to armed intruders, one suspect arrested

SAN ANTONIO - A barking dog alerted a homeowner to several intruders on his property early Wednesday morning.

According to police, a homeowner on Moana Drive heard his dog barking at about 12:30 a.m.

He went outside to investigate the situation and found four men in the backyard. He yelled out and the men ran. The homeowner went back inside, grabbed a gun and confronted one of the intruders inside his garage.

Police said the intruder was also armed. The men struggled, but no one was shot.

One suspect, a man in his 20s, was arrested. Police say he faces charges of aggravated assault. No other arrests were made.
