Bexar County Democratic Party Chairman Manuel Medina joins race for mayor
SAN ANTONIO —
Manuel Medina has announced he’s joining current Mayor Ivy Taylor, Councilman Ron Nirenberg, and gun shop owner Roberto Viejo in the race for mayor.
The Bexar County Democratic Party chairman made the announcement Saturday at Main Plaza in front of San Fernando Cathedral. Officials with the campaign say a committee spent weeks gauging support for Medina, Supporters say he is the right man for the job and has the city's best interest at heart.
"I think his character and his leadership can bring San Antonio to a different level needed today,” said attorney Miguel Ortiz. “He is a hard worker, he has the best interest of the people of San Antonio in his heart, and he will be a great, great leader for our city."
San Antonio will vote for mayor on May 6th.
