Burglary suspect in custody after leading deputies on high speed chase
LAGRANGE, Texas - A burglary suspect is in jail after leading deputies on a car chase.
The incident happened around 4 p.m. when Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies were called about a burglary in progress at a home on Farm-to-Market 609 near Farek Loth Road.
After getting a description of the vehicle from the homeowner, deputies tracked down the suspect and initiated a traffic stop. The suspect failed to stop and led deputies on a high-speed chase until the vehicle ran over spike strips on FM 609 near Business 71. The suspect fled the vehicle and ran into the lobby of a nearby Hampton Inn when deputies caught up to him and took him into custody.
The suspect was identified as Kenneth Dale Yost, 23, of New Braunfels, who was charged with Burglary of a Habitation, Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle and Possession of Meth.
