Car bursts into flames after major accident near University of The Incarnate Word

SAN ANTONIO - A car fire shut down parts of U.S. 281 on the North Side early Wednesday morning.

The fire started around 2:30 a.m. on the northbound lanes of U.S. 281 near E. Hildebrand Avenue.

Firefighters arrived to find the car fully engulfed in flames, but were able to quickly put it out. Reports say the vehicle was involved in a crash, but no information was immediately available.

No injuries were reported. Police are still investigating.
