The San Antonio City Council is inviting local artists to submit their soundtracks to be featured at meetings. The program was created by Mayor Ron Nirenberg to further highlight local San Antonio artists.

Applications to the program will be accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed for selection by the San Antonio Arts Commission’s Music Committee.

Artist can submit up to three original songs to be considered for play during the following city council meetings.

  • “A session” meetings, held at 9 a.m. every Thursday, except the fourth week of the month
  • “B session” meetings, held Wednesdays at 2 p.m., except the fourth week of the month
  • Special City Council meetings (may be held at locations other than the Municipal Plaza Building)

The music will also be featured on TVSA and online at where all city council meetings are broadcasted.

“San Antonio’s music scene is full of world-class talent in all genres of music,” Mayor Nirenberg said. “This program provides an opportunity for all citizens to hear the incredible music that their fellow residents create, and to continue San Antonio’s dedication to being a music-friendly community.”
