Coast Guard suspends search for man less than a day later
GALVESTON, Texas - Yesterday, the U.S. Coast Guard began looking for a man who went missing in the water near Galveston. Thursday night, the search has been suspended.
Reports said a man fell overboard the ferry John W. Johnson at about 7:15 p.m. near Seawolf Park.
They looked for the Hispanic man in his early 30s for the past 23 hours over 259 square miles. Officials used helicopters, boats, motorized lifeboats and the Galveston Police Department throughout the search.
