Comal County deputies search for "wedding crasher"
Deputies in Comal County are searching for a woman they call “The Wedding Crasher."
‘We were a little upset at first,” said Dani Schick, who got married on August 3rd at a venue in the Spring Branch area. “I guess more so just surprised."
Sometime during the ceremony, he says a woman dropped by posing as a guest.
She made off with a few gift cards meant for the bride and groom.
Comal county deputies say they've been investigating activity like this since December.
They also say the woman has been frequenting events in several surrounding counties.
“Since the December incident there was another incident reported in January,” said Scott Frakes, with the Comal County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say this woman usually takes off with gift cards, cash and checks.
Surveillance photos taken on August 3rd have helped deputies link the woman by the gift cards she's been using at multiple stores.
“We have good information right now we got two separate wedding venues that were hit within a couple hours of each other here recently,” said Frakes.
